Mascha Ballhaus continues to prove why she’s one of the most exciting names on the circuit. Competing in the -52kg category, the German powerhouse showed nerves of steel and world-class judo throughout the day. In a gripping IPPONGEAR vs. IPPONGEAR final, she faced Ayumi Levia Sanchez of Spain. It was a technical and tense battle, but Mascha came out on top - claiming gold and Ayumi Silver. A stellar performance from the two.
In the -57kg category, Pauline Starke made her presence known once again. Known for her dynamic judo and particularly her superb newaza, she battled through a tough draw to take home the bronze medal. This latest podium finish is further proof that Pauline is back in top form, finding her rhythm just in time for the World Championships.
A new weight category, a familiar result. Dena Pohl, now competing in the -70kg division, showed that change can lead to new success. She brought powerful gripping, confident attacks, and impressive tactical awareness to the tatami, earning herself a well-deserved bronze, her second Grand Slam Medal on the world tour.
The German medal train didn’t stop there. On day three, Julie Hoelterhoff captured her second IJF World Tour medal of the season, claiming bronze in the -78kg division. With every tournament, she’s establishing herself as a reliable podium contender, adding depth and strength to an already dominant German squad in the -78kg category.
