Local hero, just 18 years old Jacob Vares, gave the home crowd something to cheer for, as he was able to capture a silver medal in the category -100 kg and put Team Estonia on the medal tally. Vares has had a great season and made it into not less than four European cup finals and this weekend, he could secure his first European medal.
Jovana Stjepanovic: Silver in the weight category -78 kg

Just 18 years old Gal Kloda of Israel managed to capture the first major medal of his career, as he was able to come away with a bronze medal in the category -66 kg. Kloda came into the competition unseeded but in the end of the day, he could celebrate a career high.
Anna Skalska: Bronze in the weight category -63 kg
Czech Anna Skalska could celebrate winning her first medal of the season, as she captured a bronze medal in the -63 kg category. Skalska was yet to win a European cup medal this year and came into the competition unseeded, nevertheless, she managed to take out the number one on her way and in the end of the day, she was awarded her first European medal in the junior division.
Igor Tsurkan: Bronze in the weight category -81 kg
In the category -81 kg, a bronze medal went to Igor Tsurkan of Ukraine. Tsurkan came into the competition as the number one seed and with an impressive track record of four European cup gold medals this year, Tsurkan was without a doubt, a favourite in the category. Earlier this year, Tsurkan’s younger sister, Ilaria Tsurkan, won a bronze medal at the Cadet European Championships and this weekend, big brother Igor, was able to capture a European bronze medal of his own.
Marcelina Vranjes: Bronze in the weight category +78 kg
Marcelina Vranjes of Croatia could celebrate winning her first major medal, as she captured a bronze medal in the category +78 kg. Vranjes has had a great season and won not less than four European cup gold medals and this weekend, she could celebrate her first major medal and career best.
